FAQ
Engagements

All packages include a complimentary engagement session.

When should I call to schedule my engagement session?
You may book your engagement session as soon as you book your wedding with us. Many couples complete their engagement session 6 to 12 months before their wedding. We recommend having your session at least 3 months prior to your wedding date. This allows enough time to order products such as Save the Date cards. Please call 314-878-5657 to schedule your engagement session.

Where do I have my engagement pictures taken?
Engagement sessions are scheduled one Sunday per month at the Jewel Box in Forest Park, click here for directions. Sessions are scheduled per 30 minutes. It is important to call immediately if you need to cancel your scheduled session. We schedule sessions on Sundays due to having weddings on Saturdays.

How should we dress for our engagement session?
You may dress up or you may dress casual. It is truly your preference. Many couples dress in casual wear. Slacks, corduroy and jeans are often worn. It is flattering for couples to wear colors that compliment what the other is wearing.

What are the directions to the Jewel Box?
From 270 and 40, you will follow 40 East to EXIT 33D Forest Park/ Hampton. Once you veir right off of the exit onto Hampton, you will approach a stop light across from the zoo. Get to the far right and make a right at that intersection onto Wells Dry Rd. You will go to the right of a loop then instantly follow the loop to the left, You will be facing the Jewel Box. Do not complete the loop to the left, but rather take a right, remaining on Wells Dry Rd. and park across from the Jewel Box. You will enter through the front of the Jewel Box.

How and when am I able to view my engagement pictures?
Unlike your wedding proofs, your engagement proofs will not be online. Your engagement proofs will be tangible. You will receive your engagement proofs as 4X6 photos in a small album. You will receive this album 2 weeks following your engagement session. This album and the proofs are yours to keep. This does not apply for the wedding proofs. The wedding proofs are on the internet only.

May I buy my engagement session on a CD?
You may buy the images from your engagement session on CD for $100.00. This also includes one Save The Date file for printing your own Save The Date cards.

How do I order prints from my engagement session?

Your Photographers

> Why Is It Important To Have 2 Photographers?
Two photographers capture more of the event than one by themselves. One photographer coordinates the schedule, posed and group photos. This photographer is known as a traditional or lead photographer. The second is known as a journalistic photographer who captures the candid moments of your wedding. Photojournalists remain back within the scene and collect images that tell a story through the genuine emotion of the day. In this circumstance, two truly are better than one.

What Is The Difference Between Traditional Wedding Portraiture & Photojournalism?
Traditional Photographer – arranges the posed portraits whether they be group portraits or illustrative portraits of the wedding couple. They coordinate the photo session and primary interact as the lead photographer.

Photo journalist – Tells the wedding story by collecting images of emotions and actions.

Do We Get To Select Our Photographers?
You may choose your photographer ONLY if you do so on the day you book your wedding. You may only choose one of your photographers and only on the day you book your wedding.

Which Packages Allow Me To Have Two Photographers?

Regular Packages 2 and Above - allow two photographers
(1 Traditional Photographer & 1 Journalistic Photographer)

Should We Provide dinner For Our Photographers?
Your photographers are with you more hours than any of your other vendors. Your photographers begin with you and remain with you until late in the evening. It is always greatly appreciated to be included in dinner. It allows them a break to refuel for the party pictures.

Should We Tip Our Photographers?
This is completely for the wedding couple and family to determine. If you would like to give your photographers a monetary gift of appreciation, it is completely acceptable. Your photographers do not expect a tip and are gracious when they do receive one.
Tips are for the photographers. They keep 100% of their gift.
